This house has a very nice exterior looks. It was feel more natural and modern blended into it. It was created by Nicolás Loi architects; he placed the right elements in the right place. Dark wood exterior panels nicely contrast with the cherry honey interior, and when the sun sets, the light that comes from the interior makes the whole unit lights up like magical fireplace. The wrap around deck invites guest to experience the outdoor that can even be seen from the inside due to the never excessive use of glass. via

The House Awaiting Death by EASTERN Design Office

This house is designed to someone that awaiting death located in Japan. It was designed by EASTERN Design Office. The client explained “I will die in 15 years. It will be a house awaiting that death. The building is fine as long as it lasts 15 years. Something small would be good. I have found the place… I’m glad the land faces East. I hate the sunset. When I die it won’t be sunset, it will be sunrise. When the final moment comes, I will face the sea and depart on a ship flashing towards death. It’ll be a time revealed after death.” So the house area is 440m². Floor space is 73m² is a house facing the East. via

Natural Ballard Cut House design by Prentiss Architects

This house is designed by Prentiss Architects and it was called The Ballard Cut house. It was located in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, WA. Its owners previously lived on a boat for 14 years. The house is looks very comfortable and warm cause it was surround by great natural environment. A minimal pallet of inexpensive finish materials was used to achieve an economy of scale and reduce transition details. For example; an inexpensive concrete fiber board was used for most exterior surfaces, accented by smaller areas of cedar siding. The green roof, while not inexpensive in the initial install offers more savings in the long run, reduces heat reflection into the upper rooms and provides a place to garden on a very small lot.

Extensive glazing was desired on the west elevation. Rather than install an expensive curtain-wall system, less expensive aluminum nail-fin windows were ganged together and trimmed with aluminum break shapes to achieve a similar effect for a reduced cost. via
